How many users Twitter? Who do you use? And for what purposes? What is the status of other social media (Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn, etc.).?
If you put all these questions, you will probably answer in the best work available in Italian network on the subject, that the slides produced by David Jackson, known sociologist, a research scholar of social media, bloggers.
Interestingly, it appears the profile of Twitter users and especially the use made of it: as a means of sharing information and links, research information, but also of social presence. Twitter is short, a place where the news circulating, even in a viral infection, but that does not work as a social network.
And finally, I found a couple of interesting data on Twitter:
- its growth appears to slow (but this is 2009 data);
- a small percentage of users (5%) is responsible for 75% tweet.
short, even if Twitter is growing as the number of users (subscribers), it seems that many leave the tool or at least they make an occasional use.
